Cookie Policy

Last updated Jul 13, 2026

This page lists everything Popcorn Editor stores in your browser and why. The short version: essential and functional storage only, unless you explicitly accept analytics in the consent banner.

Essential cookies

Set by our server on server-rendered pages (this site's templates, docs and learn pages, and the sign-in flow). They are required for the site to function and are not used for tracking.

Name Purpose Lifetime
laravel_session Session for server-rendered pages and the sign-in flow Session (about 2 hours)
XSRF-TOKEN Protects forms against cross-site request forgery Session

Functional local storage

The application stores working preferences in your browser's local storage. These never leave your device except as part of normal requests (your sign-in token authenticates you to our API).

Key Purpose
token Keeps you signed in to the application
workspace Remembers which workspace you are working in
pe.consent.v1 Remembers your cookie consent choice
editor.*, agent.*, studio.* Editor preferences: units, grids, snapping, display mode, AI panel settings

If you choose Accept all in the consent banner, we load Google Tag Manager, which may set Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement cookies (such as _ga, _gid and related identifiers). We use these to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising.

Until you accept, all of these are denied by default (Google Consent Mode v2): no analytics script runs and no advertising cookies are set. If analytics is not configured on this deployment, the banner does not appear at all and nothing in this section applies.

Changing your choice

Use the Cookie settings link in the page footer to reopen the consent banner and change your decision at any time. If you switch from "Accept all" to "Essential only", new analytics activity stops immediately; cookies already set by Google are removed by your browser when they expire, or you can clear them in your browser settings right away.
